Bowdon Homes has acquired land off Moor Lane in Wilmslow, Cheshire for the creation of Lowood; a stunning development of 14 luxurious contemporary style eco-homes.
The brownfield site is surrounded by picturesque green belt and bordered by woodland and a nature reserve. The picturesque location will influence a heavy inclusion of natural materials in the design and build of the new eco-homes.
We are working with award winning Altrincham-based architects, Calderpeel to finalise the design of the eco-homes, which will each site within their own substantial landscaped grounds.
To ensure the new dwellings sit harmoniously within their precious setting, a choice of six different styles providing either four or five bedrooms will be offered.
Adopting the common formation of farm buildings, the homes will be crafted in three small clusters off a meandering path through the site, with each cluster centred around a shared landscaped courtyard. As well as creating a sense of community within the site, the formation promotes natural surveillance and allows open grassland between each cluster.
Within each home will be sociable open plan living spaces suited to contemporary lifestyles, a study that supports home working or schooling and private retreats encouraging cosy family interactions. The aim is to deliver ‘forever homes’ that accommodate a family’s natural evolution, so all bedrooms are large doubles where toddlers can grow to teenagers and many feature en-suites allowing different generations of families to comfortably co-exist.
Further details on the properties, including CGIs will be released later this year ahead of the start of construction. Construction is anticipated to take 24 months with completion forecast for January 2023.
